The lake I have the deepest connection to is Lake Clearwater in Mid-Canterbury. It's the lake my parents first took me to at just two weeks old. It's the first lake I have memories of; chasing dragonflies, paddling in a canoe with my brother rocking the boat, and watching my Dad sail his lovingly home-built catamaran.
And it's the first lake my son stood in too
